God cares!

How do we know that someone loves us? One way is because they take care of us!

Good parents show that they care by taking care of our physical and emotional needs. These needs change and are temporary.

God takes care of the whole person: physical, emotional, and spiritual.
He provided for our physical needs through sun, rain, food, and strength.
He provides for emotional needs by promising to never change.
Most importantly he provides for spiritual  needs of salvation and fellowship with Him.

God is eternal and is most interested in our eternal needs. Sometimes it may seem as if He doesn't care because our physical and emotional needs seem to be going unmet; however, it is in these times He is working the hardest for our eternal good. How? He is showing a need and his willingness to fill that need.

Job is an example that readily comes to mind. He lost all his children and possessions in one day. Soon after, he lost his health. His friends came to criticize instead of comfort. His wife turned against God. In all this, God was aware--He cared deeply for Job--at the right time he showed Job his needs. Job realized he needed God's Word and a Mediator between God and himself. As soon as he recognised this and humbly accepted God's help, God was able to fill his need.

In this day, I have needs and God lovingly and patiently shows them to me.

He showed me the need for deliverance from sin. He provided by Jesus' blood shed at Calvary, His Resurrection power! He invited me to trust Him. He moved me from the walk of sin unto death to the walk of life in Christ Jesus. The joy of knowing my sins are forgiven "Once for all" "Forever" is mine!

He is showing me  the walk of faith-- Trusting His care and work in my heart.

Lastly, He shows me to look to Him, see the needs of others like He does, and care. Words like mercy, compassion, and charity mean so much more.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out!
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.  Romans 11:33 and 36

Love's Linguistics

The white screen stared at me
With it's one long blinking eye
Asking for words far too grand
For a writer such as I

Who can tell the wonders
Of God's only begotten Son
Or express the worth of the precious blood
Of Christ, the Crucified One

Who can shout the total joy
The relief from sins set free
Or write the blessings of a life
Lived to truly to glorify Thee

Who can explain that Grace has found
Faith's contrite heart a home
And beautified with Gentle Peace
By Mercy from Heaven's throne

The words are yet unspeakable
The Glories far above
Just to trust the name of Jesus
Is to overwhelm with love

Thoughts after studying the book of Hebrews

"Be of good cheer" "Be of a good courage" "Be of good comfort"

Be of good cheer
1.  Thy sins be forgiven Matt. 9:2
2.  It is I, be not afraid Matt. 14:27
3.  I have overcome the world John 16:33
4.  God has a purpose for his children Acts 23:11
5.  God keeps his promises Acts 27:25

All of these things are claimed by faith in God's Word!

Forgiveness is claimed by faith admitting that my sin put Jesus on the cross and then trusting that He shed His blood, died, was buried, and rose again to save me!
By faith I listen to His teaching and obey.
By faith I accept Jesus' help to be successful over the sin nature. (Growing in grace)
By faith I discover His Purpose for my individual life. By faith I claim each promise according to His Word.

"Daughter, be of good comfort, thy faith hath made thee whole..." Matt. 9:22

Jesus said these words to a woman that came to Him by faith for a miracle. She depended on Him.

In the Old Testament, Joshua was told to "Be of a good courage".  God would be with him! Joshua had God's Word to follow!

God is so good!!!!
