The Mirror of the Word

Thy Word is like a mirror, Lord, draw me ever nearer...

Examine throughly every part
Cast Thy Searchlight on my heart
Reprove, rebuke, exhort, instruct
Into Your Likeness reconstruct

The perfect law of Liberty
Grace overcomes my iniquity
By my heart I'm oft' deceived
By Your Truth my cares relieved

When I walk amid the world
Do not let sin and Truth be swirled
Always testing thought and deed
To God's design--what He decreed

Guide my path through everyday
Over my life have total sway
Be my help, Lord, and I will be
A hearer and doer--conformed to Thee
